Sonography is an ultrasound based diagnostic imaging modality used to visualize subcutaneous body structures including tendons, muscles, joints, vessels and internal organs. Ultrasounds are commonly used to detect or aid in the detection of abnormalities and conditions related to pregnancy. Ultrasounds are usually combined with other tests, such as dual marker, triple marker tests, to validate a diagnosis.
